Traits of a Recession Warrior

MS BIZ FANS

Dear Ms. Biz - We have been clients of Creating & Managing Wealth (CMW) since 1997. We have three children and work in the education system. Needless to say we did not know how to save money for our children’s college education with the money we earned. So, when they entered college, James and I added extra jobs to pay for college. We did not obtain educational loans, we paid out of pocket. Both of the first two children were in school together. During these years, the credit cards gradually got out of hand as we tried to make ends meet. As soon as they first two graduated, the third child entered college. We continued to pay tuition and boarding and all other college expenses. We ended up with $48,000 in credit card debt. Then we met Christina at a business meeting held at our school and she gave me her card. Decided we needed to talk with her and see if she could help us after our youngest child graduated college. At the time I was 59 and James was 65. Christina said, we don’t need to wait. “Yes, I can help you now.” Christina designed a plan for us on the first visit and illustrated for us how to pay off the credit cards. It was unbelievable! We did not believe we could do it, thought we were too old. Christina was so positive though and showed us on paper how we could do it ... and we did! Thank you Christina! We worked hard at it together and the experience brought us closer together as a couple because we were accomplishing a goal as one. Because of what CMW helped us do, we have been to Europe three times, and our future is secured. This would not have been possible without CMW. CMW is great!

Dear Ms. Biz - I would like to see you do a show for the younger women out there. My daughter is only 17 but she will be heading to college in the fall and has plans for her future. Ive tried but I dont think shes got very much of a financial plan. Would you do a show for the young women like her. We will be listening. - Calvin (Tamika's dad)

Dear Ms. Biz - I put my Big Girl Panties! I was recently laid off from a major retailer where I was employed as a cleaning person. Listening to your show inspired me to go around town and put out flyers offering to do cleaning for people and businesses in the area. Now I am have over a dozen small businesses as clients and nearly twice as many homes to clean! The best part is I have so much business that I was able to hire two previous co-workers are now not only are we all working but each of us is earning more than we did at our old jobs! Wow! Putting on your Big Girl Panties really does work! Thanks and I am going to keep listening to you. - Teresa

Dear Ms. Biz - I would like you to do something for us guys. I know you are working mostly to get the message to the ladies. But believe me today there are a lot of us guys who need the same advice. Recently you talked about credit card debt. I had a over six cards and based on your recommendation Ive turned them into a note at by bank. One payment is much better and I believe it will pay off in my lifetime. I put my big boy boxers on. Thanks! - Marcus
